A 1908 AKD. The initials stood for 'Abingdon King Dick'. Abingdon was a British industrialist who founded several companies in the mid to late 1800's, and 'King Dick' was his prize Bulldog. One of Abingdon's companies is still in business today - King Dick Tools.
